The MAX2118UTL is a Complete DBS Direct-Conversion Tuner IC. The MAX2118UTL downconvert RF signals in the 925MHz to 2175MHz range directly to baseband I/Q signals.They are targeted for digital DBS tuner applications.However, the MAX2118UTL is applicable to anysystem requiring a broadband I/Q downconversion. The MAX2118UTL includes completely monolithicVCOs to cover the entire 925MHz to 2175MHz frequencyrange. The complete frequency range is coveredwithin a 5V tuning range, thus eliminating the need forcostly 30V supplies and varactor diodes. The VCOarchitecture also eliminates problems associated withfrequency pulling with high receive inputsignal levels.
